“Swimwear supplier for a resort retailer” fails when the quote treats a bikini as one unit and the chlorine test is skipped because the hang photo looked right.
The buyer and the product
The buyer wants a small resort line: a triangle or halter bikini, a one-piece, sometimes a tankini for higher coverage. All of those blocks exist as photographed library styles on AquaForm™ 220. Private label changes colour, logo, lining and hardware. It does not start by inventing a fabric name.
The commercial line buyers misread
A bikini set is usually two garment pieces. Sample fee and the 150-piece colour gate follow that count. A one-piece is one piece. Quoting the set as a single MOQ makes the colourway look cheaper than the cloth and the labour, and it breaks the comparison with a one-piece in the same capsule.
Bulk for swim is typically 30–40 days after PPS — longer than yoga or tennis on a stocked cut-and-sew base. Putting a yoga lead time on a swim PO is how a resort delivery is promised early.
Development nodes
- Silhouette from the library or a tech pack.
- Lining map — full, partial or power mesh — and hardware colour, written.
- Sample at US$50–100 per garment piece, 7–9 working days.
- Chlorine and colourfast gates on the sample, including the lightest colour wet.
- PPS, then 30–40 days.
The problem
Resort buyers approve a dry studio shot. The lining on a light ground goes sheer when wet. The metal trim does not match after a chlorine wash. Both are sample gates. Discovering them after the deposit is a new proto, not a “small bulk adjustment”.

Piece count on the quote. Lining and hardware on the fit sheet. Chlorine and colourfast cleared before bulk booking. We do not claim a recycled fibre story on this programme unless the mill scope and the transaction certificate are written — that is a different reconstruction. We also do not open kids, maternity or men’s boardshort pages off a resort moodboard.

Why is swim bulk 30–40 days, not 25–30?
Swim programmes on AquaForm™ typically run 30–40 days after PPS. Yoga and tennis cut-and-sew on stocked fabric is typically 25–30. They are different calendars.
Is a bikini one MOQ?
A set is usually two garment pieces. MOQ and sample fee follow piece count. Confirm it on the quote before you compare it with a one-piece.
Do you sell open-stock bikinis to wholesalers?
