Golf dresses and skorts fail in wholesale for the same three reasons tennis programmes fail: unwritten coverage, pocket geometry copied from the wrong sport, and a soft fabric that bags after a full round. This guide is the manufacturing brief behind those decisions.
Length, slit, under-short and swing/bend photos — before the first proto.
Rangefinder, glove, ball, tee. Depth and opening direction are not decoration.
PowerForm™ 215 when recovery and opacity lead. Soft yoga hands are a different brief.
150 pcs / style / colour. Dress and skort are two styles.
Coverage map buyers should write
- Dress length and skort skirt length at the size you will photograph.
- Under-short inseam and whether it is sewn-in or attached.
- Side slits — depth and whether a swing exposes lining.
- Bend-over and address-the-ball photos under daylight.
Without this map, factories fill gaps with tennis defaults. Tennis defaults are often wrong for course coverage.
Pocket brief for course use
| Use | What to specify | Common failure |
|---|---|---|
| Rangefinder | Depth, width, secure closure | Shallow ball pocket — device falls on a swing |
| Glove | Opening orientation, moisture | Pocket that gapes when walking |
| Ball / tee | Count and security | Visible bulge that breaks the silhouette |
| Phone (if required) | Size limit written | Phone pocket added late, destroys clean line |
Fabric path
For structured course dresses and skorts we usually start on PowerForm™ 215 — recovery and opacity under daylight. Softer studio hands belong to a different programme. Pale course colours need the same opacity discipline as yoga neutrals: approve the lightest colour on the same base. See golf fabric desk and court fabric properties.
Development path
- Coverage map + pocket brief signed.
- Decide: adapt a tennis block or start OEM clean.
- Proto — sample US$50–100 per garment piece; 7–9 working days after the brief is locked.
- PPS from bulk fabric lot; pack-out for specialty retail if needed.
- Bulk 25–30 days after PPS. MOQ 150 per style per colour.
